In the event of an emergency, seconds count. With an extremely fast and at the same time simple solution for the 2nd escape and rescue route is now attended to by Selve. MAN Rescue clears the way in just two seconds: With the emergency operating system, a motorised roller shutter can be opened manually by belt in the event of a power failure.
The installation of this patented escape route solution is absolutely simple, it is installed like a conventional drive bearing in the head piece of the roller shutter box. “The system combines several advantages,” says product manager Dirk Wrobel: “It is intuitive to operate, can be reset to normal operation by the user himself and is completely maintenance-free.” After extensive testing and field trials, sales to the first selected customers will start in the first quarter of 2021. The clever concept – the combination of an electromechanical drive bearing with a belt for the emergency opening of a motorised roller shutter – comes from Tobias Piening, managing director of Rollladen Piening. Why complicate things when they can be completely simple and self-explanatory? This credo is followed by the new manual emergency operating system by Lüdenscheid, which, thanks to its installation, handling and convincing functionality, is not only simple, but simply good. MAN Rescue provides more safety as an extremely fast escape route solution with a harness – and is the product of a special development partnership.
The brilliant product idea came from a long-standing Selve specialist partner who patented his innovative invention. “Normally, Selve is known for developing new items and special applications for its specialist customers itself. In the case of MAN Rescue, we have developed a technical customer solution further and improved it even more,” reports Georg Hein, a graduate engineer in the design and development department. As project manager, he was responsible for all further steps concerning MAN Rescue: from the modification of the first prototypes to various adaptations to the market-ready product.
